Trust Within Teams

How does your team perform? Could it be that your team does not have an adequate level of trust to foster success? All teams must have a basic level of trust. This may seem simplistic and obvious in nature; attaining team trust is not always easy. Trust within a team means that members are not personally judgmental. Insuring your team focuses on the concern, not the person is critical. As a leader, it is your responsibility to hold your team accountable to this standard. Teams that have a solid level of trust also speak and act in terms that illustrate they have the best interest of the other person or the team in mind. Members of a solid team do not allow personal objectives to interfere with the progress of the team.
Members of a solid team also provide solid feedback. Feedback means providing data and information to other individuals that is useful, focused on the team or objective, and not used as a personal attack. The other half of providing solid feedback is receiving feedback properly. As the receiver, one must not take the information personal; rather, build on the information provided to improve the team. For instance, if a member of the team gave me feedback that I need to be less critical of suggestions they gave in meetings, my response should be, “Thank you for the feedback. Can you give me a suggestion of what you mean and how I should react to suggestions as the come up in meetings?” I would then have them explain what that looks like and then restate the information back to them as I understood them. Finally, I would ask if I understood them correctly. If yes, thank them again, and begin to work on this issue. This is a minor issue and may have other surrounding issues, such as this person uses the meeting to give suggestions that are counterproductive to the team. If they came to me first, I must deal with that first; however, I should have provided them feedback that I feel they provide information that is counterproductive to the team during meetings…and explain what that looks like from my angle.

The most important point here, providing feedback is healthy and important. How it is received is just as important.

FanBase’s J ROCK Show

Hey Grandmaster Ryde here to give you the rundown on last week’s FanBase so lets go. First we had to welcome back Evil Jeff who came back after being sick all of last week. I know that i make fun of and pick on my co-hosts but in truth each one of them is important to the show and helps it greatly and with out them the show losses power. So thanks to Evil Jeff for coming back. Also last weeks show was different then other shows because we decided to play all J-rock for the show. With the exception of the arcade block which was renamed the Anime block for the show every song was J-rock. We started things off with our intro’s as usual but with no female co-host, because due to directional problems she was late but the show had to go on. We started with our Blast of Sugar. This week we played Precious by Meg. After we all took about 10 shots of insulin we went in to WTF News. Our news stories for the show were: The Japanese Prime Minister calls for Thunder Birds, Japanese Women Abandon Women for Cats, Hitting Girls is Wrong so I Raped Her, Why SciFi changed their name to SyFy and finally just to show that crazy stuff happens here in the states, Burglar dismembered with Katana in Samurai Self Defense. Then we played UZU by Kagrea from the album Shu. After the song, we made the announcement that we aer going to be at EXP con which is happening Oct 9-11 in St. Augustine Florida, for all the info about it including events and special guests go to http://www.expcon.org/. You really want to check this Con out it is going to be AWSOME. Then we played our interview with Artist/Voice actor Doug Smith from Mizucon. Then we did our daily drawing for Zona con, and our winner was so excited that every other word out of his mouth was #@$^%.  It was the funniest thing i had heard in a long time. After our hilarious phone call we played Border of the Dead by Aurural Vampire.

After the music we went into our first discussion of the day which was Realistic or unrealistic body types in anime. Evil Jeff explained that girls are tired of the Barbie body type in anime. And apparently there are problems with male characters. For example the spaghetti arms and their chins. Basically both boys and girls have legitimist reasons to complain about the body types in anime. we then went into the Anime Block. We played Modern Strange Cowboy from needless, then we played Fwa Fwa Time from K-On and the opening to the anime Maria Hlolic. Then we went into our second discussion which was a comparison between the video game series, Resident Evil and Silent Hill. We compared and contrast the two games and in the end we all voted that resident Evil was the better game, but Silent Hill is still a good game if you can i would buy both. Then we played Distorted Daytime by The Gazet. Then we went into our trivia question for the Zonacon VIP Ticket’s Our question was who is the English voice actor for Batou from Ghost in The Shell Stand Alone Complex. Then we went into our round table discussion which was “What would it be like if people tried to make a game from the movie gamer. We then ended the show with Sands of Time from Back-On. That was last weeks show, Next week Chippy is back on for her true audition for Kyrsta’s temp and more fun and random stuff to come. Tune into FanBase every Thursday at 4pm at www.w4cy.com we will see you there as we put THE RANDOM IN FANDOM

Transparency

Transparency is so important in a business. How would you like it if your boss didn’t share with you how you were doing? How the company was doing? What challenges were slowing the company’s growth? Would you know where you stood? Would you know what you could do to help the company? Would you know what your boss needed from you? Probably not. I have found, and experienced, sharing objectives, progress to the objectives, and where the team stands on obtaining long-term goals is extremely effective. This is the public display of accountability I use. It is a form of accountability of myself. If everyone on my team knows how we are doing, they know what I am working on, what I need from them in another format. This only better highlights the objective and give the team a better understanding of what needs to happen. If a member of the team didn’t understand something very well the first time I explained it, having a different description or story will solidify my meaning with them because they will better understand the issue…if not this time, the next time I describe the story. I have seen many leaders explain what they wanted to do, but failed to give stories to solidify the meaning….. rj

FanBase without Evil Jeff.

Hey to all you listeners of Fanbase, blog writer Danny Ryde here. Time to give you all the info about the latest FanBase your favorite radio show for anime, video games, comic’s etc. On last weeks show unfortunatly Evil Jeff was sick and for the first time couldn’t make it to the show. But there was some good news we had our first female co-host to audition to be Krysta’s temp until she comes back, Chippy. She is very witty as was proven in our opening segment. Our blast of Sugar for that day was short but hard hitting it was Love Hear Shine by Riyu Kosaka. After we all recovered from our diabetic shock becayse of the song we went into WTF News. Our stories for this week were, School Girl Grouper Stimulated by Chikan Sites, Hikikomori Murders Little Sister Because She Was to Noisy, and 46% of Japanese Women Admit Infidelity. Some side stories that we went over were Hollywood Akira movie Un-cancelled and live action Nodame Cantabile to be made, Japanese not American. After the news we played an interview with voice actor Michel Sinternickles (Dean from Venture brothers, Leo from teenage mutant ninja turtles), He is a very nice guy and very hyper active. After the Interview we played Resonance by T.M. revolution from Soul Eater. After that Chippy brought up an article she found about a women paying a a guy to rape her.

Then I introduced the new raffle we are creating for twp VIP tickets for the convention Zonacon. How the raffle works is this: every show we will ask a question and it could range from an anime series to what happened on the last FanBase show. Then you send us an email to fanbase@w4cy.com with your answer and if it’s right we will put your name and info in a raffle that we are having in October for the VIP Passes. You can only answer through email ,not the phone or chat room. Then we drew for the one day pass to Zonacon, our winner was Juan Alvarez Congratulations. After that we called Evil up to be part of our first discussion which was Final Fantasy 13. We discussed the improvements in Graphics the Characters and the story of the game. After that we went into the arcade block. our songs for this week were: Next Door from Street Fighter 4, God Hand from God Hand and Come together by The Beatles from The Beatles Rock Band. Then we had our first VIP raffle question which was: “from the anime Rarouni Kenshin what is Kenshin’s real name and the answer is Shinta. We then made fun of Big B for losing on W4CY’s new game show who wants to be a monopoly zeronaire. We then played another interview from Mizucon this time it was voice actor Vic Manyana (Ed from FMA). Then we played Dont Say Lazy from K-on. Then we went into our media release and we finished the show with Welcome Home form Coheed and Cambria from the new movie 9. Thatwas our show Last week. tune in this week when we will have Evil Jeff back, another girl trying out for Krysta’s spot and a TON of J-rock. Tha’s FanBase this Thursday on W4CY.com at 4pm see you then.

Change, Change, Change

Creating Change in your Company
It's not easy getting things to change if you've done things a certain way for so long! Want to know what how things get done in large companies? I have attached an article for you to read about the Six Secrets of Change. http://bit.ly/4EpYjg These are the things that the companies you know and love do day in and day out! Learn how to do these things and you will become a success. Unfortunately, you want to be a success overnight...these things won't let you do that. Being a success takes years and consistent actions. You'll notice every time you hear about an overnight success, it took them 10 or 15 years to accomplish that "overnight" success. I'll also be talking a little about this on my show on Thursday at 2pm on W4CY.com. Listen to learn more that the article! I'm just giving you a preview of what's to come!!!
See you Thursday!

Tonight in Peter's livingroom will be Keith MacKendrick. Singer-Songwriter. Talk and performing Live. Be there at 9 PM on w4cy.com

Hey Women - Are Your Remotes Broken?

Is it just me, or is something strange going on with the women on this planet right now? Some kind of shifting from the old and moving into the new. Changes are evident everywhere around me. Many are starting their own companies, changing jobs, getting divorced, starting charities, moving their homes, and some are even dying their hair bright colors! Sometimes I'm reminded of the scene in the remake of Stepford Wives at the end, when all the remotes break and the women wake from their shells of conformity and start to look around and question, "What is happening?". (Of course, they then attack their husbands for making them into shells of women, but we'll leave that subject for another radio show - just kidding men, you know I love ya!)

Is this some sort of cosmic shift of female energies on our planet, or is it just the residue of the strange times and economy in which we live today?

For the women going through these changes, what resources and tools are out there to help them? How do they sanely transit through their transitions? What questions do they ask themselves about their changes and how do they know they are making the right decisions for now and the long term? What is it within them that is stirring and creating these desires?

Other women may feel the need to make a sort of shift, but aren't really sure what they want to do or where to start. What steps do they take to address this yearning? Should they do anything at all?

Join us LIVE Monday, September 14th at 6pm EST, as we talk about this cosmic shift, and decide if it is real or imagined, and how it is affecting women today.

Our panel expert is Michele Landers, a dynamic and gifted lecturer, teacher, author and consultant on the subjects of personal empowerment, the law of attraction and numerology. Recognized and highly regarded as an authority in her field, her book, The Tao of Numbers, is a detailed study of the science of numbers. Michele is a much sought after radio, media personality and speaker who has taught hundreds of classes, speaking to packed houses throughout the world. She has helped thousands of clients nationwide to gain clarity and direction in their lives and to discover their own unique talents. Find out more here: Michele Landers.

Our "real life" expert is Ruby Hands, the owner of Ruby’s School of Metaphysics & Psychic Sciences in Hobe Sound, FL. Through her workshops and personal counseling, Ruby has extensive experience with women who have recently experienced a significant transition in their lives, or are currently experiencing a stressful event. She will give us insight into the real life scenarios of women around us.

Remember to tune into this live radio show by visiting www.w4cy.com, on Monday, September 14th at 6:00pm EST. This is going to be a great show!

Motivation

Motivating your team takes different skills and understanding what makes your team tick. Knowing your team is critical to motivation. By better understanding the team you can move the team in a new and certain direction. But, this doesn’t happen by accident! It begins with a plan of where you want to go, followed by a direct, concerted message to all members of the team with consistent follow through. By communicating, I mean literally an internal marketing campaign to insure the team knows what direction you want to go. Further, by providing multiple messages, you are allowing the team to see the information in different avenues and in a different light, helping them better comprehend all parts of the change and direction.

It is important to understand, however, that motivation comes from within. It is not something that you can push on people. You can only create an environment where motivation can become common place. If you try to force it, it will not happen. If you set up situations where motivation (or momentum) is present, then you can create internal motivation. For more on this with respect to motivating your team, click on bit.ly/2aa5Gj.

FANBASE AND FREE CON PASSES

Hey all you listeners of FanBase your official blog writer Danny Ryde here. So on our last show we had two guest hosts the first was a possible replacement for Krysta her name was Chippy. The second was my big brother Maniacal. So after the introductions we went right into the show with a blast of sugar. The song we played was Kemiko Deluxe by Chiwa Saito form the anime Kemiko DX. After the sugar we went into WTF News. Our stories for this week were Walt Disney buys Marvel Comics, 14 year old boy pays 14 year old girl for sex on a toilet, Man arrested for trying to commit suicide, Japan’s new prime minister’s wife claim’s to be abducted by aliens, and 20% of Japanese men want to date game characters. After the news we played an interview I did with the owner of Mizucon Jo. Then we  went into a review of Mizucon. we talked about what we liked and what was going on their, for a complete description of what we did look at last weeks blog post which was a complete review of what went on at Mizucon.

After our review of Mizucon one of our contest winners Andrea called into the show. Because Andrea was so nice to us and because i know how lonely it can be to go to a con by yourself i gave her another pass to Zonacon so she could take a friend. That’s just the kind of guy I am. After Andrea called we tried to give away some free VIP Passes to Zonacon con but everybody we called didn’t answer the phone. The one person we did manage to talk to couldn't go to Zonacon because he was busy with another convention. So the VIP tickets are still going to be given away in a new contest listen next Thursday for the details. Then we played Ready Steady Go from Full Metal Alchemist because two of the voice actors for FMA were at Mizucon. Then we played an Interview I did with Wendy Powell who was the voice of Envy on FMA. After the Interview i had to call my parole officer  Officer Plywood and we talked about what happened at Mizucon. If you would like to see Officer Plywood’s interrogation of me at Mizucon simply click this link:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ho9Hp49XU0

After the call to Officer Plywood we played the arcade block. Our music for this week was Devil’s Never Cry from Devil May Cry, Longing from FF7 Dirge of Cerberus, Liberi Fatali from FF8 and Sparkling from Teken 5. Finally we did a quick round table on why there is such a lack of comic book cosplayers and ended the show with Hell Above Water from the band Curve from Iron Man. That’s what happened on last week’s show, Chippy will be back on because Maniacal kind of over shadowed her. So our quest to find a replacement for Krysta continues. Tune in next week at 4om for FanBase where we put The Random In Fandom.
