Hi this is Danny Ryde. All the listeners of W4CY know me as the host of FanBase, a frequent guest on the "Peter Piper Show and the intern of W4CY. While our listeners may know me on the air I don't believe you know what its like to work for W4CY. That's why I’ve decided to tell you what it’s like and hope that this blog will help people who are interested in learning more about radio and are interested in interning at a radio station and how wonderful it is (That last statement was BS their crazy here please come and help me)!
First I would like to tell a little bit about my two bosses Peter Wein and Dean Piper. First I want to thank Peter for giving me the opportunity to come and work for W4CY. Peter is a very unique person, He jokes and teases me every chance he gets but the next instant he will be a completely serious person and help me with my radio show or with any other problem here at the station. Of course sometimes he takes his jokes a little to far. Like the time he had me dress up as a chicken go to a local supermarket and try to free all the poultry from the store. This was going to be a bit on the Peter Piper Show but because of some trouble I got into at the supermarket we weren't able to play it on the show. So i ran up and down the isle screaming “Free my bird brothers you murderers” I don't think it scared people to much, Only three cop cars showed up at the store. Peter is a very talented and entertaining person. Any time he has a guest on his show he always keeps thing at 50-50. what I mean by that is he keeps his interview at 50% serious and 50% funny. It doesn't matter who the guest is or what the subject is Peter will find a point of humor in any thing and will make everybody around him laughing. Even though Peter does tease me a lot I know that he means well and when he teases me it usually comes with a lesson in the end. Now that I've said that hopefully he will give back those pictures of me at this drag show down in Miami.
Dean is with out a doubt one of the most laid back and positive people i have ever met. I don’t think a negative thought ever passes through his mind. Like Peter Dean plays around and jokes a lot, also his jokes come with either a lesson or something designed to help me. Dean has helped me take a more positive out look on a lot of things. Like Peter Dean likes practical jokes and he has me perform them for either his show’s the Power of You or the Power of Music. One time we had an escape artist on the show and Dean wanted to see how good an escape artist i would make. So he had his guest but a plastic bag over my head and then duck tape it in place to see how long i could last. I lasted for about 1 minute before i passed out, luckily the escape artist was a women and i got some action in the end. Dean then had me keep the now torn plastic bag on my head and put another plastic bag over my shoulder as a cape and had me run outside go into the street and try to direct traffic. It went ok i nearly got flatten by a truck and got flipped off and called a S..t head more times then I can remember but thankfully the cops didn't show up, because of that Dean has come up with a super hero persona for me Danny Dynamo and what's going to happen is were going to film me doing crazy stunts like jumping off the roof of a building into a fire fighters net and dancing with a bear and all sort's of crazy stunts (HELP ME FOR THE LOVE OF GOD HELP ME). Life here is a lot of fun but a lot of serious work I want to do my part to help W4CY grow and make my show FanBase on every Thursday from 4pm-5pm here at www.w4cy.com become known throughout the world. So thats what life is like being an intern here at W4CY Radio. I will be updating this blog to let you know how it’s going here and also keep you informed of any crazy stunts that Peter and Dean are going to have me do. Until next time this is Danny Ryde saying bye (CALL THE POLICE NOW!!!!!)
